Police say two men were arrested Sunday in connection to a hit-and-run involving an NYPD sergeant.
Video captured a black sedan barreling into Sgt. William Maher at Walton Avenue and East 170th Street last week.
Police say Calife Hough, of Harlem, and Jason Velasquez, of Jersey City, were in the vehicle at the time.
Sources say the suspects were in that area of the Bronx because they burglarized a pawn shop. They say Velazquez stole $7,000 tools, a computer and a PlayStation from the store.
Maher was then struck during their escape.
Hough and Velasquez were arrested three days later in Georgetown, South Carolina. U.S. Marshals took them into custody and extradited them to the Bronx to be charged.
Authorities say the suspects were taken to central booking.
Maher was released from Lincoln Hospital's emergency department Sunday. He needed staples in his head and suffered several serious injuries, including a broken collarbone and fractured ribs.
