Rallies continued to make their way around the city Tuesday as elected officials added their voices to the growing cries for justice for people of color. 

Protesters gathered outside Brooklyn Borough Hall with signs. For over an hour, elected officials, religious leaders and activists called for major police reform--saying people of color have suffered for far too long. 

 

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and other officials called for reform to the police department. 

Many say they are fed up with being abused, brutalized, overpoliced and prosecuted on the basis of race. 

Some protesters tell News 12 they will leave the policy reform to the politicians, but that it is important for them to be part of this movement from a human perspective. 

"I just felt hurt and fed up and disappointed in our legal and justice system because no matter what the backstory is behind how it began it's not justice what happened to him so I just felt disappointed and hurt as usual,” said protester Shakur Brown.
