Protesters in Edenwald demonstrated against police brutality Saturday, as well as other issues the black community is facing in terms of education, housing and mental health resources.
Organizer Ethelyn Daley spoke to those who gathered in Seton Falls Park, saying that George Floyd’s police-custody death sparked a movement, not a moment.
She says negative interactions with police were just a part of growing up for her.
“That shouldn't be business as usual for the day in the life of an American citizen,” she says.
Despite Gov. Andrew Cuomo signing police reforms into action, protesters say they will continue to gather.
