Police: Man assaults woman in Norwood during attempted rape

Police say a man attempted to rape a woman in Norwood Friday night.

Police say a man attempted to rape a woman in Norwood Friday.
They say the unidentified suspect followed the 27-year-old woman into her building near Reservoir Oval West and East 210th Street around 8 a.m.
Officials say the man then grabbed the victim, threw the victim to the floor and repeatedly punched her in the face while trying to remove her clothing.
The woman managed to fight him off, but was left with multiple bruises to the face and arm. She has been hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
The suspect, who was wearing red at the time of the incident, fled.
A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, says she is fearful because of the incident
"It's scary," she says. "It's surprising because this has never happened in this area before."
