Storm causes downed trees and power lines, 1,000 without power across Brooklyn

Communities this morning are dealing with messes left behind by a strong storm that came through the city Monday night.
The storm causes downed trees and branches around Brooklyn and some power outages.
On the corner of Avenue T and East 22nd Street in Midwood, News 12 saw many downed tree branches and debris that has yet to be cleared.
The fire department and police are working to shut down roads where there were downed power lines and broken tree limbs.
In many spots people were reporting power outages because of the weather. As of this morning, nearly 1,000 customers are without power. Con Ed says they're mostly all weather related, and for some power could be out until this afternoon.
Also, many are going to be dealing with property damage left over, as some cars were seen with trees on top of them and smashed windshields.
