Police Commissioner Dermot Shea has confirmed an arrest in the murder of a 17-year-old basketball star from the Bronx. 

Police say 22-year-old Najhim Luke was arrested in connection to the murder of Brandon Hendricks. Police say Luke has been charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. 

Hendricks was shot and killed last Sunday in the Bronx.

He had graduated high school just a week before the murder, and was expected to attend St. John’s University.
