“Street seats” have begun to pop up in the Bronx for more pedestrian-friendly areas just in time for the warmer weather.
The seats are free and open to the public and are open from March to December. Street seats are a great way to cool off on hot summer days, especially under the shade.
News 12 has reached out to the DOT to see if they plan on adding more street seats to different neighborhoods is are waiting to hear back.
If you're interested in setting up a street seat outside your local business, you can get in touch with the Department of Transportation and contact your local community board.
