This Sunday is Flag Day, which commemorates the adoption of the U.S. flag back in the 1770s.
About 700 students planted flags on the lawn during a Flag Day ceremony and Liberty Lawn Dedication at The Edward R Byrne Campus. The students also watched a flag-folding ceremony alongside members of the FDNY, NYPD and the armed forces.
The schools also created monuments to honor historic people, places and events.
