The Cinema School in Soundview is preparing incoming freshman for the fall with a three-week film boot camp.

The summer program allows students to write, edit and develop their own film ideas.

"Students learn to specialize, they learn that their role is important,” said The Cinema School’s film department head, Jacob Stebel. “They have to have a role, and the point of the school is to not just the filmmaking, it is the transferable skills.”
