Students are expected to return to the Kent School this week after they were forced to evacuate from the ice jam flooding.
It's been a week since more than 500 boarding school students were sent home for their own safety.
Dorms are expected to open on Wednesday with classes resuming on Thursday and with the warm up, officials are hoping Mother Nature will be on their side.
The Incident Management Team met again Sunday.
According to officials, in order for the ice to gradually melt, three to five days of around 42-degree weather, plus some minor to moderate rainfall, is needed.
Officials say today through Wednesday will be the best bet for the ice jam to shift and flow south.
If there's not enough volume to push the ice, there could be a second round of flooding.
Officials say they have plans in place for every possible scenario.
Some of the ice started to thaw this weekend, making the ice jam unstable.
Officials are reminding people to not stop or park on Route 7 along the Housatonic River to view the ice jam.
State Police will be ticketing offenders.
Officials are encouraging people in town to sign up for emergency notifications as they'll be using all forms of media for any urgent messages.
