Students teach peers, parents about BX River
Students at Bronx Community Charter School had the chance to create a hands-on museum to teach their parents and classmates about the Bronx River.
Educators at the school say students learned about how the river changes and tested the contents of the water flow.
For the past few years, students from kindergarten through seventh grade have learned about the historic and scientific aspects of the local river in their borough, but this marked the first time students had the chance to display their projects at the river in an interactive setting.
"It's actually different than actually looking in a textbook because you can see different things," said student Alpha Jalon.
