Suspect accused of mutilating man's genitals to appear in Bronx court
The suspect accused of killing a man and mutilating his genitals with a razor blade was charged with second-degree murder on Friday.
Jerry Pagan, 32, was arrested in connection with killing Richard Reed, 68, inside Reed's apartment at 1348 Sheridan Ave. on Saturday, according to police.
Police say Pagan stabbed Reed with a pair of scissors and cut his genitals off with a razor blade during a sexual encounter. They say Pagan also hit the victim in the head with a hammer. He was left bloody in the bathtub.
Police say the two had an ongoing relationship and that Pagan was recently out on parole.
Pagan has decided not to testify before a grand jury.
Officials say Pagan has several prior arrests and is due back in court on Dec. 30.
