Suspect breaks into 4 apartments at Woodlawn building
Residents of a Woodlawn apartment building are on edge after a string of break-ins last Thursday.
They say a total of four apartments at the building on East 239th street were broken into, all within a few hours.
The suspect fled with a computer, jewelry and a PlayStation, along with other items.
One tenant says she was hanging clothes on her clothesline when she saw the suspect dangling outside a neighbor's window. She says that because there's a construction scaffolding surrounding the building, she assumed it was just one of the workers.
The tenants told News 12 that management sent out a letter telling them to lock their doors and windows, which they feel is insufficient. They say they plan to meet within the next few days to discuss ways to make their building safer.
