A tap dancing class in the Bronx is teaching young students a new talent.

The after school class is held at CS 55 in Claremont.

Rosalind Barnes is a nurse by day and a dance instructor on the weekends.

She volunteers her time to teach the class.

"The arts are important when it comes to discipline, it’s important when it comes to focusing, these children need that," Barnes says.

Students say they enjoy it.

"This is good for you, and as you are having fun, you also exercise," one student says.
