The deadline to file your taxes is 11:59 p.m. Tuesday night.
News 12's Eric Steltzer has some last-minute tips for deadline filers.
Many people pay local accountants to file their taxes. Others do it themselves, and experts say it's better to file on time and end up owing than to not file at all.
According to experts, having a 401(k) or IRA retirement plan will lower taxable income.
"Everything that is used for work purposes is deductible, so it's good that you have good tracking and have all the expenses on the record," Diego Toasa, of Atax Accounting, tells News 12. "At the end of the year, we know how much they're spending for work purposes."
