'Team Up Tuesday' fosters police-community relations
The NYPD and middle school children across the city got to know each other during "Team Up Tuesday."
Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina and NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill were at Hunts Point Middle School to stress the importance of communication, allowing students and faculty to share their issues with police.
The event included games, sports, performing arts and discussions about bullying and drug abuse.
There were 300 middle schools and 70 police precincts participating in Team Up Tuesday.
