Teen girl attacked on video near Bronx school
A violent attack on a teenage Bronx girl was all caught on camera near a local high school.
Cellphone video you'll see only on News 12 shows a large crowd of boys and girls hovering around as the victim is brutally beaten, dragged on the ground and pulled by her backpack.
According to witnesses, it happened after school hours near Bartow and Baychester avenues, just blocks away from Harry S. Truman High School. They say the young people involved are students at the school who planned the attack all day and purposely stayed off of school grounds.
In the video, the girl is also seen covering her head and face while people are screaming for others to grab her. A photo shows one girl bleeding from what looks to be a cut on her eyebrow.
Co-op City safety officers are said to have tried to break up the fight, but had to call the NYPD for help.
The assault comes just weeks after a similar brawl made headlines when a group of teen girls beat up another girl inside a McDonald's in Brooklyn. That fight was also captured on cellphone video, and six teens have since been arrested.
