A woman living with her three young children in Canarsie says she's had enough of her poor living conditions that include mice, broken appliances and leaks.
"When I went to pick up the mice in our room, it was filled with maggots," Charaya Hardy says, adding that she's had to throw away plenty of food chewed through by the rodents.
Hardy says an exterminator came to her place with poison after she spoke with her landlord, but that's all that's been done so far.
When News 12 spoke with building owner Jai Singh, who currently owes nearly $60,000 in property taxes and other charges, he said he didn't know about any of Hardy's problems, nor did he know about the several city Housing Preservation and Development violations issued. He says he'll take care of them.
Hardy says she is looking forward to her court date on July 28 so her problems could be remedied.
