Authorities are still investigating after a building was allegedly intentionally set on fire in Mount Hope Wednesday.
Several tenants who live at 220 Mount Hope Place claim that two young people, playing with hairspray and matches, started the fire at around 2 a.m.
The fire caused significant damage to the fourth and fifth floors and left some residents without a place to live.
The Department of Buildings says 14 apartments in the building are no longer livable and residents on lower floors are now experiencing water leaking and ceilings collapsing.
Affected tenants were offered relocation services by the Red Cross as they try to figure out what to do next. They say that their landlords have not been helpful.
"I would love the management office and the landlords to be more caring and to have the tenants back," said Nicole Marquez of Mount Hope. "On situations like this there's no support whatsoever.
Several residents in the building also say that the smoke alarms and cameras did not work during the fire.
