Some Bronx tenants in a building nearly destroyed by an alleged arsonist say they're having a hard time returning home.
The University Avenue residents held a meeting Monday night about the delay in repairs. The city won't deem their apartments safe until smoke detectors and doors are replaced, and fire escape ladders fixed.
According to police, 46-year-old Wendy Walston was arrested for starting the blaze last month. Her boyfriend died in the fire, several neighbors were injured and dozens more were displaced.
