Tenants living at the Bronx River Houses are concerned for their health following news of Legionnaires' cases in their building.
The Department of Health confirmed Wednesday that two cases of Legionnaires' disease were discovered at the Bronx River Houses in the past year. Notices were posted on every floor to explain what residents can do to protect themselves against teh bacteria that's primarily found in water vapor.
"Thank God I have a filter and that's the water that I am drinking, but we don't have one in the shower and we could be exposed,"
says resident Felix Marte.
Health officials say the risk of contracting the disease is low, but Marte is still worried.
Marte and his family say they will have to rethink their daily routine to ensure no one gets sick.
