A Bronx publication dedicated to helping residents save money celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The Bronx Penny Pincher, a weekly circular run out of the east side of the Bronx, still does things the traditional way by printing its publication.
Owner Steve Aaron says his company 'Local Value Media' bought The Bronx Penny Pincher a few years ago to further his mission of providing content to areas underserved by print media.
The publication has been advertising local businesses and real estate in the Bronx for 40 years.
"We started out with one issue in the Throgs Neck area," Aaron says.
But they quickly expanded, reaching Morris Park, Parkchester, Allerton Avenue and City Island.
"We're one of the largest newspapers in the Bronx," Aaron says.
In total, the paper delivers over 75,000 copies to people’s homes for free.
And as consumers turn to digital media, The Bronx Penny Pincher did the same.
Aaron says the Pincher is looking to expand in Hunts Point and Riverdale as they continue growing
