Throgs Neck residents angry over seawall delay
Residents are voicing their frustration over the delay of repairs to a seawall meant to protect a Throgs Neck neighborhood.
Residents near Vincent Avenue say that after Superstorm Sandy, the seawall's concrete began to crumble, allowing water to seep through the cracks.
According to the Department of Transportation, construction on the seawall is now expected to begin in 2018.
City Councilman Jimmy Vacca says the DOT plans to put in temporary barriers near the seawall for the time being to prevent any future flooding.
