Throgs Neck teens train to be summer caddies
More than a dozen teens are getting a swing at a well-paying job for the summer.
It's all thanks to state Sen. Jeffrey Klein, who launched a new program with the Throgs Neck Houses Residents Council to certify teenagers there as golf caddies.
The "Call for Caddies" program will have them working at the brand new Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point after they complete a two-week job training that started this week.
Klein calls the program a win-win scenario with teens getting a chance to make money while also learning to play the sport. "If someone comes to the Bronx, they have to give back to the Bronx," he added.
