Tremont residents are calling for action to fix a safety hazard they say the city has done nothing about.
In August, the sidewalk surrounding a manhole was cracked and sinking and neighbors wanted to see it repaired. They say the situation is still not fixed and it's getting even worse.
"I am afraid that someone is going to seriously get hurt here and that's when they are going to want to fix it," says Jesus Hurtado. "Why should we wait until somebody gets hurt to get it repaired?"
Hurtado told News 12 that he is worried about children's safety because P.S. 58 is right down the street.
He says he has called 311 and just wants to get the situation resolved.
