True Colors Bronx to provide affordable housing on Parkview Terrace for LGBT youth
Formerly homeless youth members of the LGBT community will soon have affordable housing right in the Bronx.
Construction is well underway on the True Colors Bronx on Parkview Terrace, which aims to provide a safe and supportive home for 30 lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender young adults with a history of homelessness.
The project is backed by Cyndi Lauper's non-profit and the West End Residences, and will be the second True Colors home after the first in Harlem. Officials are already scouting out spots for a third location, with the goal being to have one in every borough.
Renderings show what the building will look like, and the apartments are expected to be ready by June 2015.
