A supportive housing building was unveiled Friday, providing food and shelter for people in South Bronx.

Services for the UnderServed, a non-profit organization, transformed a Morrisania vacant lot into a complex, nicknamed "Lego," that provides housing for formerly homeless individuals and others with disabilities. The program, Urban Farmers, provides organic fruits, vegetables and herbs, while giving residents a chance to learn gardening and culinary skills.

"The farm really represents an opportunity for the individuals we serve, from employment to nutritional aspects," says urban farmer Mike Hollis.

Program participants are provided a free lunch for guests to enjoy the farm, tour the garden and purchase from their market.

Urban Farmers has six other community farms throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
