Video shows gunman in killing of dad holding daughter
Investigators have released surveillance video of the gunman wanted for shooting a young Bronx dad while he was holding his child in Parkchester.
According to police, 21-year-old Allen McQueen was shot as he ran down Taylor Avenue Tuesday afternoon, clutching his 1-year-old daughter, Taylor. Family members say he pushing his daughter in a swing when he spotted someone he knew and then yelled for everyone to get out of the park.
Authorities say the suspect at first missed McQueen, causing him to take off running. The suspect then fired more rounds, hitting the victim in the head. He then fled the scene in a gray Mercedes.
McQueen was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The little girl was not hurt, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
McQueen's family says he was a dedicated, loving father, but hung out with the wrong crowd. Police say he had 23 prior arrests and was involved in gang activity.
A makeshift memorial has been set up at the site of the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
