A Bronx reverend says a man stole a piano from his church in Claremont.
The Rev. Joseph Kuoffer, of the Inspirational Gospel Assembly, says a man walked out with a keyboard that is used every Sunday.
"One of the musicians came in and saw that the organ wasn't there," he says.
Surveillance video shows the incident, which happened on Sept. 1. Kuoffer says the man was hired by a woman to help set up a banquet hall.
He says the woman who hired the man doesn't know his name, but he will be changing all of the locks and the church's protocol for setting up events.
"There will be somebody here to oversee the work going on and make sure that we lock the doors ourselves," he says.
Kuoffer also says he is not looking to press charges if the piano is returned. He says he hopes the man will join the congregation.
"I'm praying that God will help him change his mind and that this will transform him into a better person, so we are just praying for him," he says.
Police describe the suspect as 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball hat, white T-shirt, black pants and yellow work boots.
