Community members gathered for a vigil Tuesday night to support a 5-year-old boy who was shot in the head on his birthday this week.
As dozens of people turned out to show their support, Jaheen Hunter remained in critical condition at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.
City leaders were among those in attendance. They called for an end to gun violence and organized public prayers.
Jaheen's brother, a member of a motorcycle club, also took part in a ride against gun violence, friends say.
