A candlelight vigil was held where 27-year-old Gabriela Aguilar-Vallinos was hit by a car on her way to work Friday.
The incident occurred on Sept. 11 just before midnight on the City Island Bridge.
Police say Aguilar-Vallinos was headed westbound on her bike and then was hit by white Hyundai sedan.
Officials say that the driver fled the scene.
Officials say that by the time Aguilar-Vallinos arrived at Jacobi Medical Center, she had died.
"Gabriella was a sweetheart. She was very energetic, always smiling and never stopped working," says Gary Celli, who worked with Aguilar-Vallinos at Sammy's Shrimp Box. "She was one of the best employees we had."
Police are still searching for the driver.
