Visually impaired students showcase talents on Allerton stage
It may not feel like spring, but a group of students in Allerton is ready to kick off a new and warmer season – with a spring concert.
About 100 blind and visually impaired students from the New York Institute for Special Education performed sounds of the season -- playing instruments like the piano and singing some of their favorite melodies for their fellow classmates, teachers and families.
Some students as young as 5 years old stepped on the stage and demonstrated their skills and singing solos for the crowd.
The students performed for the second time this year, rehearsing for weeks for the big show.
