A wake was held Tuesday for a U.S. serviceman and NYPD detective killed overseas.
Technical Sgt. Joseph Lemm was one of six Americans killed in a suicide attack in Afghanistan last week.
Lemm was also a 15-year veteran of the NYPD. He served with the Bronx warrant squad since 2014.
His family, members of the New York Air National Guard and the NYPD gathered at Stewart Air National Guard base Monday in Newburgh to honor the fallen soldier as his body was returned to American soil.
Wake services were held at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in West Harrison, Westchester County.
Lemm's funeral will be held at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
