Hundreds of immigrant families who fled violence in Central America may be facing deportation in 2016.
According to a report by the Washington Post, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency will begin removing adults and children who have already been ordered to be deported by a judge.
The report says that the operation would begin as soon as next month.
Bronx immigration lawyer Lymari Casta says that although the White House has not confirmed or denied the reports, Central American immigrants need to start making a plan no matter what their situation is.
"Just because an immigration judge ordered you deported doesn't mean it's final. There are ways to appeal," she says.
Since 2014, more than 100,000 families have come to the United States through the southwest border, according to reports.
