Weekend construction could make for a slow go in The Bronx
A number of construction projects could make for a slow go this weekend for anyone making their way around The Bronx.
Construction will resume on Claflin Avenue, closing the road both ways between 195th and West 197th streets. The closure occur this weekend from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers are urged to use University Avenue instead.
The next road closure is on East 148th Street. The road will be closed both ways between Bergen and Brook avenues from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition, Sherman Avenue between East 167th and East 168th streets will be closed for roadwork from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The final road closure will take place Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Morris Park Avenue from White Plains to Williamsburg roads for the 36th Annual Bronx Columbus Day Parade. Delays are expected around Morris Park.
As for mass transit, there will be plenty of weekend track work. Alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect this weekend.
