Westbound Tappan Zee Bridge slated for August opening

The Rockland-bound span of the new Tappan Zee Bridge will likely open for use in August, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday.
The opening will come just over three years since construction commenced.
News 12 is told that traffic will be diverted from the current bridge to the $3.9 billion bridge once crews complete the finishing touches with paving, erecting overhead gantries and testing lights.
The new Tappan Zee Bridge is set for completion in spring of 2018.
