There's a new option for Bronx skaters to get some exercise.
The grand opening for a new skatepark at the Williamsbridge Oval took place on Tuesday.
The project was first announced in 2015 and faced some delays. However, officials say it's better late than never.
"We're very proud of the fact that we're here today. When we talk about fitness, it's important for people to be out and exercise. This is a form of exercise, instead of being at a computer. It's good for them to be able to do that," said Bronx Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez.
The skatepark comes with a half pipe along with rails, quarter pipes and half bowls.
