One woman is dead after a fire tore through an apartment building in East New York early this morning.
The FDNY says the fire started just before 4 a.m. on Van Siclen Avenue near Fulton Street.
The victim was found unresponsive inside an apartment on the second floor and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Residents tell News 12 that the woman was know to neighbors as "Sugar."
According to the super, she had only been a resident of the building for six months and is originally from The Bronx.
The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
The Fire Marshal is investigating what caused the fire.
