Workers had to rescue motorists in Crotona Park Wednesday evening after their cars got stuck during a flood.
About five cars were stuck at Crotona Park East and Claremont Avenue, and people sat on top of their cars waiting to be rescued by the FDNY.
The area was closed in every direction, but residents say that it should have been shut down sooner by police because this is something that happens often.
"This is a liability. They should've had everything closed off. It's not the first time it overflooded. Fortunately, rescue workers were able to take my wife out to safety," said one man.
