The New York Yankees are set to play its first home game of the 2018 season Monday.
Fans across the borough and beyond say they are excited to see the Bronx Bombers return to Yankee Stadium.
Bertha Taylor, 74, traveled all the way from Tennessee for the event.
"This was on my bucket list, and I've been a Yankees fan ever since I was in grammar school," Taylor said.
Fans are especially excited to see what young players like Aaron Judge and new players like Giancarlo Stanton can bring to the table.
Local business owners are also excited for the season to start. They say it's not just for the money they make from the extra traffic.
"Not only do the Yankees come home, but all our friends and family that we don't see throughout the winter," said Philippe Dussek, a bartender at Yankee Tavern.
The Yankees are expected to play the Tampa Bay Rays Monday at 1 p.m.
