Youth baseball team gets visit from Yankees pitcher
A team of youth baseball players in the Bronx were thrown a curveball today when they received a visit from a special guest.
Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia stopped by to meet with players from the Boys and Girls Club fall league. The league is made up of about 100 kids from the group's Kips Bay and Madison Square locations. Sabathia sponsors the league, along with and Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson.
Sabathia says he wanted to take part because he values what the organization does to help children in the five boroughs, in addition to being a Club alumni in California.
Currently, Sabathia and Granderson are only sponsoring the league in the Bronx, but they hope to take the program nationwide one day.
