An apartment fire left one person injured early Sunday morning in Parkchester, according to officials.

The FDNY says the fire on the sixth floor of the Purdy Street building was reported just before 1 a.m.

The injured person was sent to Montefiore Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Crews were carrying out rubble Sunday morning, maneuvering through items blanketing the ground of the apartment.

News 12 observed a charred stove in the apartment and the entryway covered in soot.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire.
