Voters in the 15th City Council District have a crowded field of candidates to pick from this month as they choose their new representative.
Rep. Ritchie Torres vacated the seat to join Congress.
There's a pair of district managers running - John Sanchez of Community Board 6 and Ischia Bravo of Community Board 7.
Elisa Crespo, the education liaison to the Bronx borough president, is looking to make history as the first openly transgender lawmaker elected in New York City.
Also running is Oswald Feliz, who is a a tenant lawyer and adjunct professor at Hostos Community College.
Community activists well-represented on the ballot as well, including Latchmi Gopal, District leader Jose A. Padilla Jr. and District Director Kenny Agosto.
Also running is former health care worker Ariel Rivera-Diaz.
Rounding out the ballot is Community Board 11 member Bernadette Ferrara, who declined News 12's request for an interivew. Altagracia Soldevilla did not respond to News 12's requests.
The special election is set for March 23, but early voting begins in the district on March 13.
