Lawton Corbett is 101 years old, and according to those
closest to him, has been singing his way through most of his years.
“He loves to sing, you can see it,” said Kevin Corbett,
Lawton’s son.
With the help of his children as well as music therapist
Charla Burton, the World War II veteran was able to join the
Metropolitan Jewish Health System (MJHS) hospice veteran program.
Mr. Corbett even has his Army jacket, canteen, and the cap
he wore when he served, which he keeps out while he sings. When asked about how
he made it to 2022, this is what he had to say.
“You can’t live every day like your last. You live by
conscience.”
