An 11-year-old girl died after being struck by a car while crossing a street in the Bronx Tuesday, police say.
The incident happened at the intersection of East 180th Street and Hughes Avenue around 11:30 a.m.
Police say they responded to the area and found Kayla Williams lying in the middle of the road with trauma to her body.
She was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver of the Toyota Camry that struck Williams remained at the scene and is not facing any charges at this time.
