Tuesday night was special for advocates against gun violence in Brooklyn.
The 67th Precinct’s Clergy Council celebrated the 11th anniversary of the Godsquad, a faith-based organization that's working to end gun violence in the community.
Tuesday night’s fundraiser aimed to raise $100,000 to help support the organization in all its work and to highlight what’s been accomplished in over a decade.
Families who lost their lives to gun violence filled the seats. Activists and elected officials were honored for their support, including the mayor.
They also unveiled the first in the city Clergy Crisis Response Mobile Unit. The vehicle will help activists respond faster to incidents where they’re needed.
