A new state report suggests triggers for asthma can be found in most NYCHA facilities. 

The report by the New York State Department of Health focused on New York City Housing Authority units.

Department of Health officials inspected 255 NYCHA units across the five boroughs and found potential health hazards in 83 percent of them.

Among the top issues were, insect infestations and mold.

Doctors say asthma is being found in more people from the Bronx, especially kids.

Experts say living and environmental conditions often contribute to symptoms.

NYCHA says of the 255 units inspected, the Department of Health only flagged eight buildings that required immediate attention.

A NYCHA spokesperson says they hope the state will not withhold information about the safety of residents so the housing authority can take appropriate action.
