A Bronx man has become an advocate for epilepsy awareness after his own struggle with the neurological disorder.
Gill Seda says he hopes his struggle living with epilepsy can inspire others.
He was diagnosed with the neurological condition just before his 13th birthday.
The now 22-year-old is not alone. Experts say one in 10 people will develop a seizure in their life.
Throughout his 10 years suffering with the disorder, Seda has had many treatments, including a surgery in 2016 to remove a portion of the brain that triggers the seizures.
"Right now I feel great," he says, "I feel the surgery was a complete success. I have been a lot better than I was before."
Seda says those who suffer with epilepsy should keep fighting.
"There are different treatments,” he says, "Don't stop going for them and don't stop your journey."
