A Bronx hospital has been awarded for its safe sleep techniques program for newborns.
NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx started the new routine that includes a focus about safe sleep for babies.
The certification was presented by Cribs for Kids, a Pittsburgh-based organization dedicated to preventing infant sleep-related deaths.
According to researchers, more than 3,500 infants die every year in the U.S. from sleep-related issues.
