A 12-year-old girl has been missing since Monday night after her mother says she left her Fordham home to go pick up a tablet.
Naode Diatta's mother says she had borrowed a tablet from a family friend and used it for a few days. The mother thought Diatta had given it back, but on Monday her friend showed up to their house and asked for the tablet.
Diatta's mother says when she asked her daughter where the tablet was, she told her that she didn't have it and was going to go get it. The last time the girl was seen was leaving their apartment on Tiebout Avenue.
Her family has since been walking up and down the streets of their community looking for her and hoping she will return home safe. They are asking anyone that may have seen her to contact police.
Police say Diatta was last seen wearing a pink shirt and black pants. They say she is 5 feet tall and weighs around 125 pounds.
